About
I am Bent, an IT infrastructure specialist based near Lüneburg.
In my main job I run infrastructure in the field of critical transport systems: Proxmox and Ceph clusters, MikroTik networks with VLAN and VRRP, client systems (Windows / Linux / Mac), Active Directory environments and site migrations. It is an environment in which outages are not “inconvenient” but have consequences. I bring that way of working to every client project.
Ender Solutions is my own IT consultancy. I look after small companies, practices and offices that are too small for an IT department of their own — and still do not want to compromise on availability, security or traceability. What I run for clients, I also run myself: the infrastructure behind ender.io runs on my own hardware — virtualisation, storage, networking, monitoring, logging and a number of applications I have built. I do not try anything on a client’s system that I have not broken on my own first.
How I work
I explain what I am doing, and I write down what I have done. I do not sell a solution I would not run myself, and I say so when a project would be in the wrong hands with me. Systems should stay understandable — for you, for me, and for whoever works on them after me. No vendor lock-in and no subscription that ties you to me: access, data and configuration are yours, and you can move on at any time.
